Description
A true sherry bomb from Kavalan's flagship Solist range. Each bottle is drawn from a single Spanish Oloroso sherry cask and hand-bottled at cask strength, with no colouring and no chill filtration. Taiwan's hot, humid climate drives an intense interaction between spirit and wood, producing a deep, dark and richly layered whisky.
As a single-cask release, the exact strength and flavour vary slightly from bottling to bottling. Add a few drops of water to open it up.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Cherry jam, prunes and bramble fruit, dark chocolate and orange, with hints of cigar box and polished wood.
- Palate: Powerful and rich – plums, blackcurrant and cherries, walnuts, clove and cedar, with a lovely sweet-and-sour balance.
- Finish: Long, warming and chocolatey, with lingering dried fruit and spice.
