Description

The whisky that started it all – Kavalan Classic was the distillery's first release and remains its flagship. Made with spring water from Taiwan's Snow Mountain range and matured mainly in refill and ex-bourbon casks with a touch of sherry, it showcases the clean, tropical-fruit style Kavalan is famous for. An ideal starting point for anyone new to Taiwanese whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Clean, floral and fruity – orchid, honey, mango, pear drops, vanilla and coconut, with a hint of chocolate.
Palate: Sweet mango juice with gentle spice and warmth.
Finish: Medium length, oily and citrusy.

Kavalan has been making single malt in Taiwan's Yilan County since 2005. Its whisky has become some of the most awarded in the world, collecting World's Best Single Malt and Whisky of the Year titles. The warm subtropical climate helps the spirit draw flavour from the oak quickly.
