Description

Part of Kavalan's Peatist series, this single malt is distilled from lightly peated malt and matured in a single Spanish Oloroso sherry cask, then bottled by hand at full cask strength. The result is a rich, sherry-driven dram where gentle smoke supports rather than dominates – think dried fruit and Christmas cake with a wisp of campfire.

This expression was named Whisky of the Year at the 2026 International Whisky Competition. As a single-cask release, the exact strength and character vary slightly from cask to cask.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Soft peat smoke drifting over ripe mango and pineapple, buttery toffee, roasted plums, raisins and figs.
Palate: Citrus and toffee up front, then dried tropical fruit, dates and candied plum, with cinnamon and clove giving a gentle grip.
Finish: Long and warming, with dark chocolate, coffee and toasted nuts.
