Lively crystallised Lemon orange peel nose plus nougat, vanilla and oak char. Smells a bit rustic but has good depth. Good weight on the palate, quite silky to attack, with firm, fiery spirit, and chewiness from the wood tannin. Big earthy flavours to close- almost mushroomy.

Situated in Bas-Armagnac, Delord's distillery is to be found in the village of Lannepax, the ancestral home of the Delord family. They comment, "Our old Sier Armagnac alambics, that we wouldn't part with for all the gold in the world, produce less than 30 litres of eau-de-vie an hour. Our cellars contain our old treasured vintages and include more than 700 oak barrels that protect and age the Armagnac eau-de-vie dating from the 20th Century to the present day". A fabulous balance between sherry’s warmth and the fresh flavours only barley can produce. This label does not indicate time spent in wood because the whisky’s maturity is reached differently in every cask.
Age is only one of the complex factors on which maturation depends. Blossoming Auld Sherried is the perfect demonstration of sherry impregnated wood’s greatest significance.

To fully appreciate this cognac, take time, sit in a good chair and heat the glass with the palm of your hand. The trip to a stone fruit orchard can begin. At the beginning of the tasting, the aromas of fresh fruit at the beginning of summer - like peach or apricot - appear. As the glass warms, aromas of riper fruit, more oxidized by the sun, are revealed, such as plums, prunes and Agen prunes. These are the fruits of late summer: hot, matured, and stewed. At the end of the tasting, spices appear then the vanilla side of the oak barrel. Round and mellow, this cognac is easily savoured. Another remarkable point, the length in the mouth, so characteristic of the Grande Champagne.
The combination with a chocolate dessert (such as a Black Forest or a fondant) is quite appropriate.

Saint James Single Cask 1997 is a tribute to the savoir-faire of Saint James distillery and celebrates the 20th anniversary of the AOC Martinique.
After one very dry period between February to March, this cuvée is one of the driest vintages before 2000 for Saint James. The perfect harvest with a lot of qualitative canes created a rum full of ripe fruit aromas and natural sweetness. This cask has been aged for more than 10 years to develop an aromatic palette.
Colour: Mahogany in colour.
Nose: A nose on the sweet spices followed by cinnamon.
Palate: In the mouth, this Saint James single cask opens on dried fruit, cocoa and mocha.
